Clayton Fields is a go-to-market expert with a career spanning enterprise technology, cybersecurity, software, and artificial intelligence. Based in Woodstock, Georgia, he has built his professional experience around connecting innovative technologies with the customers and markets they are designed to serve.
Technology was part of Clayton’s life from an early age. Both of his parents worked for a major technology company, with his father serving as a finance manager and his mother as a sales engineer. Growing up, Clayton played baseball year-round and participated in the Boy Scouts. After losing his father at a young age, he entered the workforce as a teenager, first working in landscaping and later in retail.
While attending college, Clayton continued gaining practical business experience. He helped manage front-of-house operations for a restaurant, worked in technology distribution, and eventually moved into consumer technology sales. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with honors, establishing an academic foundation that complemented his growing experience in sales and technology.
Clayton Fields spent nearly a decade with a major technology company, working in commercial sales and developing subject-matter expertise across client services, infrastructure, storage, and business applications. This experience gave him a broad understanding of how organizations evaluate, adopt, and implement technology.
He later transitioned into the startup environment, where he has spent more than 13 years working with security software and services companies. Over the past decade, Clayton has increasingly focused on bringing artificial intelligence-enabled solutions to market, combining go-to-market strategy with an understanding of emerging technologies and evolving customer needs.
Throughout his career, Clayton Fields has developed an approach centered on translating complex technology into practical value. His experience across established technology companies and startups has shaped his perspective on entrepreneurship, innovation, sales, and the importance of understanding the problems customers are trying to solve.
For Clayton, successful go-to-market strategy is about more than introducing a product. It requires connecting technology, business objectives, and customer needs in a way that creates meaningful opportunities for growth.
Outside of his professional work, Clayton enjoys real estate remodeling and construction, interests that allow him to take a hands-on approach to building and improving projects. He also enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Community involvement is another part of his life. Clayton has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, contributing his time to an organization focused on building and improving homes for communities in need.
